The talented 18-year-old Dayot Upamecano is slowly emerging as one of the hottest prospects in European football with plenty of clubs keeping close tabs on the RB Salzburg defender.
Product of Valenciennes FC’s youth setup, the French youngster has seen his stock go through a stellar rise this season with Bundesliga hotshots RB Leipzig leading the race for his signature.
According to the reports from British tabloid The Sun however, Premier League giants Manchester United have also expressed interest in signing Upamecano whose estimated worth goes close to £7 million.
Jose Mourinho is believed to be preparing an offer for the 18-year-old defender, but RB Salzburg’s sister club RB Leipzig are thought to have first dibs on the player.
Dayot Upamecano could go on to become the tenth player to move from Salzburg to Leipzig in just three seasons as two clubs’ owners Red Bull slowly shift their priority from the Austrian league to more lucrative Bundesliga.
